About the Senator

Senator Milne was appointed to the Senate on September 21, 1995, by the Rt. Hon. Jean Chrétien. She is currently a member of two Standing Senate Committees: Legal and Constitutional Affairs and Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources. In the past, she has taken an interest in the legalization of hemp as an industrial crop, and the use of rBGH (bovine growth hormone used to stimulate milk production). More recently, Senator Milne has taken an interest in the release of the post-1901 census records and genetically modified foods.
